Mitosis vs. Meiosis

Here is a good web site to review the difference between Mitosis (which is used to grow a baby and divide body cells, and Meiosis, (which is used to make gamete cells- sperm and egg). Remember, meiosis result in cells that have 1/2 the chromosomes of a normal body cell.

Great Kim!

I hope you are enjoying this unit. Meiosis is like Mitosis BUT there are two divisions so you wind up with half of the chromosomes in the cells. It is a process used to produce the gamete cells. (sperm/egg cells)
