Does the mitochondria only work for cell respiration?
-Swathy =)
HI Swathy,
The main job of the mitochondria is to make energy for the cell.
The way it does that is through the process known as cellular respiration.
Oxygen + nutrients (sugar) creates energy and waste carbon dioxide.
So...when we breathe in oxygen it is really to provide our cells with it so that the mitochondria can create energy! This is also why we have to breathe harder when we exercise (because our cells are demanding more energy)!
I hope this helps!

Sorry, one more question... When are you collecting notebooks? I'm in group 5, and no one told us about the notebooks.
