Test this thursday!

Hi All!

Don't forget to review your notes for our test on all genetics topics on Thursday. I will be after school on Monday and Tuesday to review with any or all of you!

Topics on the test include: definitions from the cornell note (now working on the site), Meiosis, gamete production, Punnett Squares, genotype/phenotype, heterozygous(hybrid)/homozygous(purebred), DNA, Chromosomes, karyotype and any other topic we covered!

Here is a young lady brushing up on her DNA code for the test!

Hi Mr. Forde,
I just wanted to know if we were doing the Jeprody game. And the other thing is that I am still a little confused about mitosis and meiosis, do you think you could go over that in class tomorrow.
thanks

thanx Melissa

Hi Mr. Forde,
I just wanted to know if we need to know the stages of Mitosis and Meioses? Like Prophase and Anaphase?
Also in the Genotype do we use the genetic make up like Homozygous or the allele combinations?
thanks,
Gunjan H.

Jim Forde said...

HI All,

I hope you all studied a bit tonight!

Gunjan...you don;t need to know the stages for mitosis/meiosis. Also, it would be cool to wrtie bothe the "homozygous and BB" if possible.

Geralda... jeopardy is not functioning properly. please use your notes.

Meiosis occurs in the testes of the man or the ovary of the woman because that is where the gametes are formed.

Replication is when the cell doubles it's DNA prior to dividing in mitosis and Meiosis. (They have that in common.)

This test is only genetics. You don;t have to study your cell notes from second quarter.

I hope these thoughts help!

Hey Mr.forde that test was ok I guess. I knew every thing I needed to know. The punet squares questions were a little confusing. So now what are we going to learn in science?

Hey Hailey!

I am all about the human body now (until June). We are goin to go into detail on several major organ systems! It's going to be VERY interesting!

I am glad we all survived the test. it was a challenging one.

Mr. F :-)
