Week of April 21- tech lab
Hi All,
This was an exciting week in the media center.! We started off by dissecting a virtual frog and a virtual owl pellet! (See ... Frog Guts.com)Then we took a look at our ecological foot prints. (See...enrichment post #12 below) It was exciting to see how many responses that post received as a school from Easton became involved in our environmental education effort also!
Next we turned our attention to the digestion system. We researched a digestive organ and started creating "postcards from the organ". Utilizing our text books and the internet we researched facts and wrote a creative description of a trip to that organ.
Now...the job is to illustrate a cover for the post/greeting card. I can't wait to see them on Monday and Tuesday!
Here are some images of kids doing their research!

Enrichment post #12- Ecological footprint!
Hi All,
Earthday is Tuesday so I wanted to place this link to the footprint network web site here for you to explore.
I want all of my students to take the ecological footprint survey which is at this link.. Print out the final page where it tells you how many earths would be necessary if everyone acted they way you do. I am embarressed to say that my ecological footprint is way too large (over 5) due to my driving habits and the poor gas mileage of our family vehicles.
I can't wait to hear all of your responses to this activity. Do it with a family member for the most accurate set of results. They may learn something too!
All the best!
