Thanks for pointing out the article, it helped me a lot. I agree with the shooting becuase deer are annoying and cause a lot of damage to your car. But baby deer are really cute, if i were a hunter i would onnly shoot the really large deer!

I am glad that the article helped a bit! It is hard to really step back and make an unemotional decision about this. Population control is necessary for many reasons but I can also be conflicted when I think about this issue.

thank you for putting the artical out but i think that what stephanie said is wrong because tehy are really7 cute and they shoudn't kill them they should just send them some were else so they can live and be happy and not kill them so thatis my oppinion about that deer hunting at fairfield county but that is just so WRONG and MEAN what tehy are doing to them so THAT IS NOT NICE!!!!

I am trying not to take sides but if the population of deer gets too high you also have starving deer and increased car accidents. (approximatesly 3,000 last year).

hey yuliana you may think that killing the deer is mean and not morally right like how do we have th e right to take away a living things life but also you have to take in mind that we have made this problem and it is up to us to solve it. We are the ones who have created the environment where the deer population can flourish. We drove out the natural predators. We have to get the deer population under control or they can be a threat to us humans I also think that it is also very cruel to let the deer starve. It seems a hunt is the only way to go for deer are smart animals the stuff like Deer Away or lights might not work.

i think the deer should be killed cuz then they wont kill eachother for food.
lime disease will go down to cuz they wont have food so they die and then humans wont get lime disease.
i would shoot a male deer because they dont take care of babies as much as mothers so the babies can grow.
and yuliana moving them to another place is a bad idea.
they would eat other animals food and possibly kill them or they might die of starvation becuase the plants are new to them.
the population should stay down and how many deer are they allowed to shoot and what if the deer is 499 feet from the house is it still ok to kill it with a shot gun????
i forgot to ask if the deer has lime disease how do people eat it?
and i think shooting it is better than hitting it with a car or starving them.

I certainly don't think that white-tailed deer are the only species that people care about.
It is true though that in our community that the issues associated with deer (car accidents, lyme disease, property damage etc.) are ever present. This makes them an interesting species to discuss.

people talk more about deer because deer cause accidents not insects and if there is an epidemic caused by insects they talk about it but insects dont relly do many things to hmans because we have cures to many diseses even if it isnt all of them.
