These quizzes were not easy for me. I found the second one easier(which is not good considering it took me about 15 tries to win). The 1st one was hard because I do not know the structure of a cell. The 2nd one was a little easier. I remembered a little about the nucleus and cell walls from 5th grade. And I know about organisms from this year. I learned that ribosomes make protein, animals cells do not have cell walls, and that the reproductions of new cells is called mitosis;although I will probably forget that :-(. After I won the Second quiz I went back to the first one. I found it a little easier then, because I learned what a few of the choices were.
Mr.forde- you might get a kick out of the nobelprize.org games as educational enrichment posts. There are many, many games/flash educational animations- here are the two that are related to cells. http://nobelprize.org/educational_games/medicine/cell/ and http://nobelprize.org/educational_games/medicine/2001/ Have fun! This was not easy and it took a while for me to get the hang of things. I took Melissa's advice and tried the second quiz first. Some questions were easy on that quiz like all organisms are made of cells but other questions such as what do plant cells have that animal cells don't I got with guess and check. I also knew some of the things from 5th grade. I had to take the quiz like 20 times before I won it but it got some of the information stuck in my head! The second quiz was made easier by the first but still I didn't know that much but there were some images that I remembered from 5th grade. I also used guess and check in this one and it took me a couple of tries but I finally got 100%. I learned a lot of new things from these two quizzes! Gunjan Hooja
This is something that I picked up in fourth grade, the waterbear song. This is exactly the sort of thing that you would like, so here it is! http://malwebb.customer.netspace.net.au/watbear.html
http://www.cellsalive.com/cells/cell_model.htm This site helped me remember the organelles a littl bit better.. The cell animation is really cool! Cameron

Hey Melissa!
This is just a warm up. We will spending a lot of time learning about cells and their organelles over the next 5 weeks.
It seems like you picked up some essential facts already!
Great job.
